Have you heard about the new author websites BookBub is offering:

BookBub’s New Author Websites

Authors finally have a solution to having a website that is affordable.

We have been bothered about the amount of money and time our authors have to invest in building their websites. Not because a website isn’t worth it, but because a good website can be an ongoing headache. Not only do they have to have design skills and a basic knowledge of coding, but if they don’t want to pay someone, they also have to update plugins every week or pay a ridiculous amount for someone else to maintain it.

Have you ever tried to get a newsletter pop-up that doesn’t look like a 2008 malware ad?

So when we saw BookBub launching their new author website platform, I was interested to see what they’d come up with and how easy it would really be.

They nailed it.

Here’s what BookBub is doing right:

1. Designed for authors
Not “sort of” for authors. Not “for small business owners with a focus on creative professionals.” BookBub is specifically for authors who want to sell books, build a list, and connect with readers.

2. It’s clean, fast, and just works
The templates look modern and professional. You can launch a whole site in under ten minutes. (Yes, really.) No coding. No confusing widgets. Just pick your template and go.

3. BookBub integration = genius
If you’re already using BookBub, your books and info pull in automatically. And if you’re not using BookBub, think about it! This saves time and keeps your data consistent everywhere readers find you.

4. Newsletter built in
Email lists are a proven book sales tool. BookBub bakes in email sign-ups, so you’re not duct-taping MailerLite to Squarespace and hoping the form doesn’t break after an update.

5. Free and paid tiers
You can get started for free. And if you want a custom domain (you should), it’s just $99/year. That includes hosting, support, and ongoing updates. That’s pennies compared to most DIY platforms + a designer. A WordPress site with a shopping page can cost upward of $1400, plus about $400 per month for maintenance.

We tried this out for a client, and it’s true: you can choose a template and get your content and images up in about 10-15 minutes. His is here.

Is it for everyone?

Honestly? Almost.

If you already have a custom site you love, with SEO built out, slick integrations, and a designer on call—keep it. But if your website has been on your to-do list since 2017, or you dread opening Wix because it loads like molasses and breaks every time you change a header—this is your sign.

BookBub is the website solution I wish had existed when I started publishing. Have a look here.

I’m not an affiliate (yet), but if you need help setting one up or deciding whether it fits your platform, just shoot me a message.

Let’s get you a site that looks as good as your books.
